Openverse Global is engineering the infrastructure for a concept it terms the “Value Internet.”

The company operates as a Layer 0 blockchain infrastructure platform, designed to facilitate the seamless transfer of digital assets such as tokens, NFTs, and messages across disparate blockchains, metaverses, and the traditional Web2 internet. The project's conceptual foundation is traced back to a 2014 publication titled "The Public Currency Issuance Mechanism" by an individual known as Dr. Bright, which introduced protocols that now form the basis of the network. The development roadmap indicates testnet activities began between 2021 and 2023, with the mainnet launching in April 2024.

The business model centers on providing a foundational, interoperable network for developers and, by extension, end-users. Openverse Global aims to be the hub that connects various blockchain ecosystems, moving beyond the current landscape of isolated networks. Its architecture is built to support a decentralized future, enabling Web3 applications where users have more control over their digital content and the value generated from it. The platform utilizes a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPOS) consensus mechanism to reduce energy consumption. Its technical framework includes a suite of proprietary protocols like the Value Transfer Protocol (VTP) for cross-chain transfers and the Open Name Service (ONS) to simplify complex on-chain addresses. The mainnet is designed for high performance, reportedly capable of over 300,000 transactions per second to provide a user experience comparable to Web2 applications.

A significant milestone was achieved in May 2025, when the company secured $11 million in a strategic funding round with participation from venture capital firms including Castrum Capital, TB Ventures, DuckDAO, and Asva Capital. This capital is allocated to accelerate the development of its core protocols, enhance the mainnet, and expand its global ecosystem, which includes tools like blockchain explorers and wallets to support developers.
