OpenObserve is a San Francisco-based observability company that builds an open-source, unified platform for logs, metrics, traces and frontend monitoring, pitched as open-source, unified observability for the AI era. Its engine is written in Rust on columnar Parquet storage with no index to build, which the company says cuts storage cost by about 140 times and compute by about 30 times compared with Elasticsearch, and its repository has tens of thousands of GitHub stars.

The platform auto-correlates signals across frontend, application, API, database, network, infrastructure and AI and LLM layers, and its autocorrelation engine links logs, metrics and traces from each layer. It adds incident management, SLOs, synthetic monitoring, daily service briefings and AI SRE agents that investigate incidents, trace impact across the service graph, identify root causes such as a bad deployment and propose corrective actions. Turnkey solutions cover Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP, databases, applications, networks and AI workloads.

Ingestion works with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Fluent Bit, Vector and Filebeat, so teams can adopt it without changing instrumentation. It can run in the cloud, in the customer's own bucket, on-premises or fully air-gapped, and the company reports thousands of deployments.
