OncoCell MDx, which has been renamed Immunis.AI as of January 2020, is an immunogenomics company focused on developing noninvasive diagnostic tests. The company was founded in 2011 by Harry Stylli, with scientific founder Professor Amin I. Kassis developing the core technologies at Harvard Medical School. The firm specializes in liquid biopsy platforms that analyze the immune system's response to disease at the cellular level.

The company's core technology, the Intelligentia™ platform, utilizes RNA sequencing of immune cells and machine learning to create algorithms for detecting and staging diseases through a simple blood test. This approach interrogates phagocytic and lymphocytic white blood cells to identify gene expression signatures associated with specific conditions, aiming to detect disease earlier than other liquid biopsy methods that focus on circulating tumor DNA. The primary goal is to aid physicians in understanding a disease's pathology, which can help reduce the overtreatment of non-aggressive conditions and allow for regular, noninvasive monitoring of patients.

Initially, OncoCell MDx has concentrated on developing a test for assessing the aggressiveness of prostate cancer. However, the platform is designed to be pan-disease, with potential applications in other cancers like colon and lung, as well as other conditions such as cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. The business model involves launching lab-developed tests performed at its CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited laboratory. In September 2019, the company secured $22.2 million in a Series B funding round led by Savitr Capital, bringing its total funding to over $30 million to support the commercialization of its platform.
