NVision Quantum Technologies is an Israeli-German company founded in 2015 that develops quantum-based technologies for healthcare, with an initial focus on cancer imaging. The company was co-founded by CEO Dr. Sella Brosh, CTO Ilai Schwartz, Prof. Martin Plenio, and Prof. Alex Retzker. Dr. Brosh has a background as a senior engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, focusing on commercialization for pharmaceutical and medical device clients. Ilai Schwartz has over 15 years of experience in R&D management and quantum physics and is also an alumnus of McKinsey & Company. The company originated from research at Ulm University. NVision's core product is the POLARIS platform, a quantum-enhanced sensing system that amplifies the MRI signal of sugar-based imaging agents by over 10,000 times. This enables standard MRI machines to perform real-time metabolic imaging, allowing researchers and clinicians to assess treatment response based on disease biology within hours or days, a significant reduction from the months required by conventional imaging methods. The technology, which utilizes Parahydrogen-Induced Polarization (PHIP), is designed to operate at room temperature, making it more convenient and less expensive than previous systems that required cryogenic temperatures. NVision's business model involves selling the POLARIS polarizer, consumables, and service options to research centers and hospitals. As of May 2026, systems are being installed at leading cancer centers, including Memorial Sloan Kettering, the University of Cambridge, and the Technical University of Munich, with plans for around 20 deployments across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. The company is expanding its focus from quantum sensing to quantum computing. While developing its MRI signal enhancement technology, NVision discovered a new class of organic molecule-based qubits. It is now developing a quantum computing platform called Photonic Integrated Quantum Circuits (PIQC). This expansion aims to create a unified “compute and validate” system that combines quantum computing for designing drug candidates with the POLARIS quantum sensing platform for their real-world biological validation. In May 2026, NVision announced a $55 million Series B financing round anchored by Abbott, bringing its total capital raised to $120 million. This funding, which included a loan from the European Investment Bank, supports the company's expansion into quantum computing to accelerate the discovery and validation of new therapies.
