About Nurami

Nurami Medical is a clinical-stage medical device company that specializes in the development of innovative patches and sealants for post-surgery recovery. Founded in 2014 by Dr. Amir Bahar and Nora Nseir, experts in nanofibers and biomaterials, the company's primary focus is on enhancing healing and boosting recovery in patients following surgeries.

Their flagship product, ArtiFascia®, is a surgical patch used for healing the Dura (the outermost layer of the brain and spinal cord) after neurosurgeries. This patch is unique as it is the first nanofiber-based patch that combines two functions. It has a porous nanofiber structure that provides a scaffold for Dura regeneration and faster healing. Additionally, it is integrated with a temperature-sensitive, non-porous barrier film that helps prevent cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage, eliminating the need for a liquid sealant during surgery.

In a clinical trial involving 85 patients, ArtiFascia® successfully achieved all endpoints, demonstrating its effectiveness in preventing leakages and showing non-inferiority to commercially available alternatives. It's important to note that this product is FDA cleared for use in the US only.

Nurami Medical is also developing other products like NovaFibrex™, a surgical adhesive sealant, and ArtiFix®, a suture-less adhesive patch designed for Dural graft or general soft tissue repair. These products are still in the investigational stage.

Nurami Medical operates in the medical device market, serving clients in the healthcare sector, specifically hospitals and clinics performing neurosurgeries. The company makes money by selling its FDA-approved products and is likely to generate additional revenue once its investigational products receive regulatory approval.
