About Numerify

Numerify, founded in 2012, operated as a provider of cloud-based, AI-powered business analytics tailored for large enterprise IT organizations. The company was established in San Jose, California, by Gaurav Rewari, Sadanand Sahasrabudhe, and Srikant Gokulnatha, all veterans with extensive experience from enterprise software giants like Oracle, MicroStrategy, and Hyperion. The founders identified a critical market need stemming from the migration to the cloud and the fragmentation of systems of record, which created a crisis in business intelligence for IT departments. Rewari's background at MicroStrategy and Oracle provided deep insights into the necessity of moving beyond basic BI tools to create pre-built, integrated analytical applications for the cloud.

The company's core offering was its "System of Intelligence," an IT business analytics platform designed to provide a unified view of performance by integrating and analyzing data from disparate IT sources, including systems for services, assets, projects, and finance. Numerify's platform collected data from various systems of record, creating a common data model to deliver analytics and KPIs through a suite of applications. These applications covered areas such as IT Service, Project and Portfolio, Software Development, and IT Asset analytics, enabling IT leaders to track operational processes, measure project effectiveness, and manage service delivery in a data-driven manner. The business model was centered on providing these solutions as a subscription-based service to Global 2000 organizations, including five of the Fortune 50. By offering pre-built solutions, Numerify aimed to provide faster time-to-value than custom-built analytics platforms.

Over its lifetime, Numerify successfully raised a total of $88 million in venture capital over four funding rounds from prominent investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, DAG Ventures, and Tenaya Capital. This capital fueled its growth and the expansion of its product suite, which incorporated machine learning and predictive analytics to help IT teams reduce costs, improve service levels, and mitigate risks. The company's journey culminated in its acquisition by Digital.ai on June 16, 2020. Numerify's AI-powered analytics engine was integrated into the Digital.ai Value Stream Platform, becoming a central component for providing deep, AI-driven insights across the entire software development lifecycle.
