About NTS, Inc.
In 1981, a new telecommunications company, NTS, Inc., was founded in Lubbock, Texas. The firm established itself as a regional provider of integrated voice, data, and video services. For decades, NTS built out its network, focusing on delivering communications solutions to residential and business customers, eventually concentrating on a fiber-to-the-premise strategy to provide high-speed internet. A significant chapter in the company's journey began in 2014 when it was acquired by an affiliate of Tower Three Partners, a private equity firm. This move took NTS private and set the stage for its next phase of growth. The playbook was to expand its fiber network and solidify its position in the Texas and Louisiana markets. The story took another major turn in 2019. Vast Broadband, a provider in the Midwest, announced its definitive agreement to acquire NTS from Tower Three Partners. This acquisition was part of a larger strategy, backed by Oak Hill Capital and Pamlico Capital, to accelerate growth and combine the strengths of both companies. Following the acquisition, the NTS brand was transitioned, and it now operates under the name Vexus, continuing to serve communities in Texas and Louisiana.
