About Noble Mobile

Noble Mobile is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that provides subscribers with cash back for using less data. Launched in September 2024 by CEO Andrew Yang, a former US Presidential candidate, and President Zach Graumann, the company aims to address both the high cost of mobile plans and the negative effects of excessive screen time. Yang's motivation stemmed from a desire to lower daily costs for Americans and tackle the mental health impacts of mobile phone addiction, a continuation of his mission to build a more human-centered economy.

The company operates on the T-Mobile network and offers a single, straightforward plan at $50 per month for unlimited talk, text, and 5G data. Noble Mobile's business model is designed to disrupt the traditional telecommunications industry by rewarding customers for their unused data. Subscribers who use less than 20GB of data in a month receive cash back rewards, referred to as "Noble Cash," at a rate of approximately $1 per unused gigabyte. These rewards can be used as a statement credit or left in the account to grow at a 5.5% annual rate.

The startup secured $10.3 million in a seed funding round led by Corazon Capital. Other notable investors include business professor Scott Galloway, Jim McKelvey (founder of Square), and David Ko (CEO of Calm). The company functions as an MVNO, buying wholesale network access from T-Mobile, which allows it to avoid the high costs of building and maintaining its own infrastructure. This model was inspired in part by Mark Cuban's Cost Plus Drugs, aiming for transparent pricing in an industry Yang views as systematically overcharging consumers.
