About NextVenue

NextVenue has a complex history, originating as an American webcasting and virtual presentation provider before its brand was adopted by a Dutch event venue company. The original company was founded in 1998 by Nick Balletta as an offshoot of CNBC/Dow Jones Desktop Video, a joint venture involving Microsoft, NBC, and Dow Jones. This first iteration of NextVenue focused on providing internet-distributed electronic roadshows and virtual presentations for multinational corporations and the financial community. Following a merger into iBeam Broadcasting, Balletta later bought the company back in 2003, renaming it TalkPoint.

TalkPoint established itself as a provider of cloud-based, browser-accessible webcasting software and services. The company's Convey platform offered both self-service and fully managed audio and video webcasting for events with up to 10,000 attendees, serving over 300 enterprise clients, particularly in the financial services, pharmaceutical, and publishing sectors. The business model focused on providing a scalable solution for large-scale corporate communications like town halls and demand-generation webinars without requiring special hardware or software downloads for users. In September 2014, PGi (Premiere Global Services, Inc.), a global collaboration software company, acquired TalkPoint for its strong position in the webcasting market. Under PGi, the TalkPoint technology was integrated into PGi's GlobalMeet suite of products, specifically enhancing its webcast and virtual event capabilities for a global enterprise audience.

Subsequently, the brand name "Next Venue" has been adopted by a Netherlands-based company focused on physical event locations. This Dutch entity operates over 10 distinct event venues in the Netherlands, including castles, industrial buildings, and farmhouses, catering to a range of events from weddings to corporate conferences. This company provides comprehensive event services, including in-house catering with locally sourced food, technical support with modern audiovisual facilities, and full event planning assistance. Their business model centers on offering all-inclusive, tailored event experiences at their unique physical locations.
