NewOrbit Space is a Reading, UK spacetech company building satellites engineered to operate commercially in Very Low Earth Orbit (about 200–300 km), where aerodynamic drag, atomic oxygen and torques have historically made long stays impractical. Its NEO-1 design includes proprietary propulsion intended for multi-year VLEO missions, targeting sharper Earth imagery, direct-to-phone connectivity and new sensing capabilities at lower cost than conventional orbits. In June 2026 NewOrbit raised an oversubscribed $18.5 million Series A led by Voyager Ventures, with angels including David Kirk and Lawrence Leuschner, family office Custos, and returning Atlantic.vc, Lifeline Ventures, LGF and Illusian, following an earlier $7.5 million Seed.
