About NEUROSPACE

NEUROSPACE is a Berlin-based NewSpace company founded in 2020 by CEO Irene Selvanathan. Her co-founders include Oliver Romald Siebert (Legal) and Johannes Rojahn (VP Design). Selvanathan, whose parents fled from Sri Lanka to Germany, developed a passion for space from an early age and gained experience with CubeSats, which inspired the company's core product. The company focuses on developing space technology enhanced by machine learning and is setting its sights on the Moon.

The primary offering is the HiveR, a modular and flexible robotics platform designed to create affordable and transferable rovers for a wide range of applications on the Moon and Earth. This platform is based on the open CubeSat standard, which allows researchers and companies to focus on their scientific payloads rather than the complexities of rover development. By standardizing components and using commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) parts, NEUROSPACE aims to lower the cost and entry barriers for lunar exploration, positioning the HiveR as a 'Volkswagen of the Moon'. The business model includes providing the rover platform in several variants, from a basic version for research institutions to a high-end solution. The company's goal is to establish the infrastructure for lunar logistics, focusing on last-mile delivery services on the lunar surface.

NEUROSPACE operates the HiveR Ecosystem, which includes a browser-based Mission Control Center for tele-operation, allowing for the management and simulation of entire fleets of robots globally. The company has received public funding, including a grant for the TACHELES project—a 12U CubeSat for radiation measurement as part of NASA's Artemis 2 mission. Partners include the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the European Space Agency (ESA), and several universities.
