Before founding Netmagic, Sanghi cultivated a deep technical background with roles at AT&T Bell Labs, IBM Global Network, and helped design wide area networks for financial institutions like Merrill Lynch, providing him with a robust foundation in network architecture and systems development.

The company's journey began by addressing the nascent demand for data center services in India. Over the years, Netmagic successfully navigated the evolving technology landscape, securing several rounds of venture capital from notable investors including Nexus Venture Partners, Fidelity, Cisco Systems, and Nokia Growth Partners, which fueled its expansion. A pivotal milestone occurred in 2012 when Japan's NTT Communications acquired a 74% majority stake, a strategic move to combine Netmagic’s local leadership with NTT's global reach. This acquisition provided an exit for its venture investors and integrated Netmagic into NTT's 'Global Cloud Vision', enabling it to scale and enhance its service offerings. Sharad Sanghi continued to lead the company as CEO post-acquisition, ensuring continuity and driving its growth under the new ownership structure.

Netmagic's core business revolves around providing managed hosting, data center colocation, and hybrid multi-cloud solutions to a client base of over 2,000 enterprises globally. Its customers span a wide array of sectors, including banking, financial services, e-commerce, healthcare, and manufacturing.
