The company was co-founded by a team of veteran AI researchers, Yu Su, Xiang Deng, and Yu Gu, who collectively possess over 30 years of experience in the field of AI agents. CEO and Co-Founder Yu Su also leads a prominent AI agent lab at the Ohio State University. The founding team has contributed to foundational research in the modern AI agent field, with their work being utilized by major AI labs like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
NeoCognition's core technology aims to move beyond reactive AI agents that simply execute tasks. Instead, their agents are designed to learn continuously from their operational environments, building internal knowledge models and adapting their behavior without needing complete re-training. The objective is for these agents to acquire a deep understanding of specific "micro-worlds"—such as professions, organizations, and software systems—to operate with expert-level judgment. This approach emphasizes specialization and cumulative learning, allowing the agents to understand context, constraints, and consequences within a given field.
The business model centers on creating a new class of AI agents that can be applied to various business and professional workflows. By developing agents that learn on the job, NeoCognition intends to provide solutions that can handle complex tasks, improve productivity, and even generate new, inventive solutions based on their specialized knowledge. The company provides business-oriented AI roadmaps, develops AI agents and augmented workflows from prototype to industrialization, and offers AI governance and managerial reorganization services.
