About Navent

Navent operates as a prominent online classifieds company in Latin America, focusing on the real estate and job sectors. Founded in 2009 by Nicolás Tejerina, the company emerged from its predecessor, Bumeran, an online job board established in 1999. Tejerina, who holds a degree in International Relations and previously worked as a business consultant at Price Waterhouse, had a decade of experience at Bumeran, including five years as CEO, before establishing Navent. His vision was to apply the successful strategies from the online job market to the real estate sector, leading to a significant regional expansion.

The company's business model revolves around its portfolio of online portals, which serve as marketplaces for job seekers, employers, and real estate professionals. Revenue is generated through classified listings and related services on these platforms. A significant milestone in the company's history was the strategic acquisition of its real estate assets by the Brazilian proptech firm QuintoAndar in December 2021. This transaction included well-known real estate portals such as ZonaProp in Argentina, Imovelweb in Brazil, and Inmuebles24 in Mexico, among others across six Latin American markets. Following this acquisition, Navent has continued to operate its portfolio of job-focused assets. These include recruitment sites like Bumeran, ZonaJobs in Argentina, Laborum in Chile, and recruiting software company HiringRoom.

Navent's growth was substantially supported by funding from private equity firms, including Tiger Global Management and Riverwood Capital. A 2010 funding round led by Tiger Global facilitated the initial acquisition of several property sites, marking Navent's aggressive entry into the real estate classifieds market. Subsequent investments from Riverwood Capital in 2012 and 2014 further fueled its expansion across Latin America. This strategy of growth through mergers and acquisitions allowed Navent to establish a strong presence, often holding number one or two market positions in the countries where it operates. Before the sale of its real estate division, the company managed a network of sites that attracted over 30 million monthly visits across eight countries.
