Navenio is a technology company that provides indoor location and workforce solutions, primarily for the healthcare sector. Spun out of the University of Oxford in 2015, the firm was co-founded by Professor Niki Trigoni and Tim Weil. Trigoni, who also serves as Chief Science Officer, is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Oxford with extensive experience in cyber-physical systems. Weil has over two decades of experience in developing technology businesses in sectors including telecoms, mobile, and healthcare.

The company's core technology offers an indoor equivalent to GPS, functioning where satellite-based navigation cannot. It operates without requiring any new hardware or infrastructure investment, instead utilizing the existing sensors within smartphones. This proprietary system uses a fusion of technologies, including sensor data, crowdsourced auto-mapping, and AI-powered motion tracking, to determine a user's location with accuracy to within a few meters. The platform is delivered as a cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) model, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Navenio's primary product is its 'Intelligent Workforce Solution' (IWS), an AI-led platform that optimizes the tasking and workflow of hospital staff, such as porters and cleaners. By tracking the real-time location of personnel, the system can intelligently assign tasks based on who is best placed to respond, described as being like "Uber... but for people". This leads to documented increases in workforce efficiency, faster completion of tasks like patient transport and cleaning, and improved patient flow. The company also offers its 'Intelligent Location Solution' (ILS) to integrate location awareness into existing hospital systems and applications.

Navenio's business model is centered on providing its solutions to hospitals and healthcare systems, with clients including several NHS Trusts in the UK. The company is currently expanding its operations into the United States. Navenio has raised a total of $31 million over seven funding rounds, with its latest Series B round securing $6.3 million in September 2023, led by Oxford Science Enterprises.
