About MyCos

MyCos is a Chinese data and consulting firm specializing in the higher education sector. Founded in 2006 by Dr. Wang Boqing, the company provides data-driven evaluation, consulting, and management services to universities and colleges. Dr. Wang, who studied economics abroad, established MyCos to apply his expertise in employment research and data analysis to address the growing issue of graduate employment in China. The company started in a spare classroom at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE), where Dr. Wang had previously taught.

MyCos offers a suite of products and services that includes data tracking and analysis, quality assessments of student development, teaching, graduate employment, and alumni development. It serves over 1,600 higher education institutions annually, helping them with program development, teaching quality improvement, and enrollment evaluation. The firm's business model is centered on providing these institutions with its intelligent platform for data tracking and customized data-based solutions. A significant part of its work involves producing the annual "Chinese College Graduates' Employment Annual Report," also known as the Employment Blue Book, which has become a key reference in the field.

The company has established research partnerships with numerous top-tier universities in China, such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Renmin University. It also collaborates with government bodies and international organizations like the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Justice, and the World Bank. After facing initial challenges in a market unaccustomed to private education consulting, MyCos gained significant traction in 2009 amid the global financial crisis, as graduate employment became a national priority. Today, the company is recognized as a leader in its industry in China, with CITIC Industrial Fund as its controlling management party.
