Montage Talent, Inc. operated as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider specializing in hiring and talent acquisition technology. The company was established in 2007, originally under the name Expressume, by founders Kurt Heikkinen, Andy Bonk, Mike Bonk, and Patrick Foy. In 2010, the company rebranded as Montage Talent. Kurt Heikkinen, who served as President and CEO, brought extensive experience in human capital management and enterprise software to the firm.

The firm's primary offering was a comprehensive interviewing platform designed to streamline the recruitment process for large enterprises. This platform provided a suite of tools including on-demand video, voice, and text interviews, as well as live interview capabilities and automated scheduling. The software was developed to integrate with major enterprise Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and aimed to reduce hiring time and costs while enhancing the candidate experience. Serving a client base that included over 100 Fortune 500 companies, Montage focused on providing a configurable solution for high-volume and specialized recruiting needs.

A significant milestone for the company occurred in September 2017 when it acquired GreenJobInterview, a competitor in the video interviewing space, and simultaneously closed an $8 million Series D funding round. This move was intended to accelerate market expansion and further platform innovation. In May 2019, Montage Talent merged with Shaker International, a provider of predictive talent intelligence and assessment solutions. Following this merger, the combined entity was rebranded as Modern Hire. The transaction provided an exit for Montage's early investors, with the new company being co-headquartered in Delafield, Wisconsin, and Cleveland, Ohio, and led by Montage's CEO, Kurt Heikkinen.
