Momentum, operating as mmt.finance, functions as a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol built on the Sui blockchain, positioning itself as a central liquidity engine for the Move ecosystem. The project was founded in 2022 by Wendy F. and Jacky (YanXiang) Wang, and was previously known as MSafe, a multi-signature wallet solution. The team includes CSO Vinson (Vinny) Leow and Head of UI/UX Hans Wang. The platform generates revenue through transaction fees, 100% of which are redistributed to holders of its vote-escrowed token, veMMT. Its business model serves individual crypto investors and DeFi users by providing a suite of tools including the Momentum DEX for trading, liquid staking (xSUI), and secure treasury management via MSafe. The native token, MMT, is central to the ecosystem, used for governance, staking, and accessing rewards. Users can lock MMT to receive veMMT, granting them voting power on protocol decisions and boosted rewards, a system designed to align incentives between traders, liquidity providers, and token holders.

Momentum's product suite is designed to create a unified financial operating system. The Momentum DEX facilitates efficient trading of Sui-native and cross-chain assets, supported by integrations with protocols like Wormhole. MSafe offers institutional-grade security for managing digital assets with multi-signature capabilities. Another key feature is the Token Generation Lab (TGL), a launchpad that connects new projects with the community, offering veMMT holders priority access to pre-sales and airdrops. Additionally, Momentum Vaults provide automated yield optimization strategies for users.
