MOIA is actively piloting autonomous ridepooling through the ALIKE project in Hamburg, deploying up to 20 self-driving ID. Buzz shuttles that operate with Level-4 autonomy. The initiative is a collaboration with partners such as Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Apex.AI, and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, aiming to scale autonomous urban mobility by 2030.
Its autonomous systems include AI-powered interior monitoring that checks for passenger safety readiness—such as seatbelt use and cabin clearance—before enabling autonomous operation.
