Mode House
Fan-participatory K-pop label utilizing blockchain technology
About Mode House
Modhaus, Inc. is a South Korean record label and entertainment agency established on November 30, 2021, by co-founders Jaden Jeong (Jeong Byeong-gi) and Joseph Baek (Baek Kwang-hyun). Jeong, who serves as CEO, is a veteran creative director and producer in the K-pop industry with a history at major labels like JYP Entertainment, Woollim Entertainment, and Blockberry Creative, where he was instrumental in shaping the concepts for groups like LOONA and Lovelyz. Baek, the company's Vice President, brings a consulting background and designed the firm's blockchain-based business model.
The company operates on a unique "open architecture entertainment" model, which aims to integrate fans directly into the artist production process. This is achieved through its proprietary mobile application, 'Cosmo', which leverages blockchain technology. Fans can purchase digital photo cards in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), called "Objekts," which grant them voting tokens known as "COMO". These tokens empower fans to make key decisions for the agency's artists, such as forming sub-units, selecting album titles, and other creative choices. This fan-centered system is designed to create a more engaging and participatory experience, transforming fans from passive consumers into active contributors to the intellectual property.
Modhaus manages the large, 24-member girl group tripleS and the girl group ARTMS, which includes several former members of the group LOONA. The agency is also preparing to launch a boy group named idntt. The business model generates revenue through traditional streams like album sales and merchandise, alongside its digital collectible sales on the Cosmo app. This digital strategy has proven successful, with North America accounting for 33% of its revenue and over 5 million NFTs issued.
The firm has secured significant financial backing, closing a Series B funding round of over $15.1 million in August 2025, led by IMM Investment. Its total funding has reached over $26.9 million from investors including Sfermion, Laguna Investment, Naver D2SF, and CJ Investment. With this capital, Modhaus plans to accelerate its global expansion, preparing to launch large-member groups in Japan and other regions.
