About Mironid
Mironid is a Glasgow biopharmaceutical company developing first-in-class LoAc® small-molecule modulators of cyclic AMP (cAMP) for Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD), the most common hereditary kidney disorder, which affects more than 12 million people worldwide and often leads to kidney failure. Spun out of the University of Strathclyde and Heriot-Watt University in 2015 from research led by Professor Miles Houslay, and led by CEO Neil Wilkie, Mironid’s LoAc candidates directly target abnormally high kidney cAMP signalling that drives cyst initiation and growth across disease stages. In August 2026 Mironid raised a $46 million (€39.9 million) Series B supported by new investor the Scottish National Investment Bank and existing investors Roche Venture Fund, Epidarex Capital, Sofinnova Partners, BioGeneration Ventures and the University of Strathclyde, to advance clinical development of its lead LoAc programme for ADPKD. Earlier Series A financing (extended to about £35 million / €40.8 million cumulative before the Series B) backed preclinical and early clinical progress.
