Mindtrix (明视脑机) is a Chinese company specializing in invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) technology aimed at restoring vision for the blind. The company's core focus is on developing implantable devices that bypass damaged eyes or optic nerves and directly transmit electrical signals to the brain's visual cortex, thereby reconstructing functional vision for patients. In addition to visual restoration, Mindtrix is also exploring applications in motor control and plans to expand into areas like humanoid robotics and military applications.

The company was founded by a PhD graduate from a top overseas BCI laboratory and has a founding team of six individuals with expertise in neuroscience, electronic engineering, computer science, and bioengineering. The CEO, Liu Bing, has expressed the team's mission as "restarting the light of life through an engineering path." Mindtrix has established a presence in both Beijing and Shanghai.

Since its inception, Mindtrix has achieved significant technical milestones. In November 2025, it completed the world's first functional interactive verification of visual reconstruction involving complex graphics and multiple colors. This was followed in February 2026 by the first quantitative encoding and reconstruction of grayscale information in China, a key step toward achieving realistic functional vision.

The company has secured substantial financial backing, completing a series of angel financing rounds totaling 150 million yuan (approximately $20.7 million USD) by April 2026. This funding round attracted numerous investment institutions, including CASC-STAR, Lingyi Investment, and Hyfinity. The capital is designated for accelerating the transition of its BCI technology into a clinically verifiable product and preparing for medical device registration and clinical trials. Mindtrix is recognized as the first company in China to complete human verification for a visual reconstruction BCI.
