MindArrow Systems
MindArrow Systems (OTC: ARRW), a provider of interactive sales and marketing automation solutions
About MindArrow Systems
MindArrow Systems, Inc. operated as a provider of digital marketing and enhanced messaging software and services. The company was originally formed as eCommercial.com in March 1999 and was considered a development-stage company through the end of that year, with principal operations commencing in January 2000. Its business was centered on enabling clients to communicate and sell more effectively over the internet, primarily through email and other digital channels.
The company's offerings included technology designed to streamline the e-commerce process by embedding the purchasing functionality directly within rich media emails or pop-up ads triggered by them. This aimed to shorten the path from a customer's initial impression to a completed sale by minimizing the number of steps required for a transaction. A key piece of this technology was a patent for its pop-up e-commerce system, which was supplemented by the acquisition of embedded commerce technology from a rival, Radical Communication. MindArrow's client base ranged from large enterprise customers to small and medium-sized businesses.
In a strategic move to expand its footprint in Asia, MindArrow acquired Fusionactive.com Ltd., a Hong Kong-based marketing and advertising agency, in a stock swap in April 2000. A significant milestone in the company's history was its merger with Category 5 Technologies Inc., which was announced in October 2002. Following the merger, the combined entity was renamed Avalon Digital Marketing Systems, Inc. and traded on the Nasdaq SmallCap market under the ticker symbol AVLN. Robert Webber, the former CEO of MindArrow Systems, took the role of CEO for the newly formed Avalon. The merger was intended to combine MindArrow's enterprise-level digital marketing solutions with Category 5's tools for small and medium-sized businesses, creating a broader suite of products and services.
