MESI, a company rooted in Slovenia, was established in 2010 by Jakob Šušterič and Tomo Krivc. The founders' journey began during their university years, where they identified a critical need for simplifying diagnostic measurements in healthcare. This realization led to the development of their first product, the MESI ABPI MD, which streamlines the Ankle-Brachial Index measurement, a key indicator for Peripheral Arterial Disease.

The company focuses on the development and manufacturing of medical devices aimed at simplifying and integrating diagnostic workflows for healthcare professionals. Its primary product is the MESI mTABLET, a modular system designed for primary care, specialist practices, and hospitals. This system integrates various diagnostic modules, such as a 12-lead ECG, spirometer, pulse oximeter, blood pressure monitor, and the aforementioned ABI measurement tool, into a single, portable device. This approach allows for immediate and comprehensive patient assessment, with all results being automatically stored in the patient's electronic record, the MESI mRECORDS.

MESI's business model revolves around the sale of its hardware—the mTABLET and its associated diagnostic modules—and a subscription-based service for its software platform, mRECORDS. This platform not only stores data but also enables clinicians to add clinical notes, share results for second opinions, and analyze the collected data. The company serves a global market, with a presence in over 50 countries, and operates through a network of distribution partners as well as direct sales via its subsidiaries in countries like Germany, France, the UK, and Italy.
