About Megadyne
The story of Megadyne begins in 1957 in a small town near Turin, Italy, where founder Corrado Tadolini started a “corner shop business” developing flat rubber drive belts. This humble beginning laid the groundwork for a company that would grow into an international leader in power transmission. The family-owned business focused on creating high-quality, specialized belts for industrial machinery. A key turning point came in the 1980s when Megadyne embraced new technology to develop polyurethane belts. This innovation propelled the company to market leadership within Italy and set the stage for significant international expansion. Over the following decades, Megadyne grew by establishing a worldwide network of sister companies and manufacturing plants, from Europe to China and the Americas. After more than 60 years of family-led growth, Megadyne entered a new chapter. In 2018, the private equity firm Partners Group acquired the company with a plan to merge it with Ammeraal Beltech, another leading belting manufacturer. This strategic combination formed a new global powerhouse in the industry named AMMEGA. While operating under the AMMEGA corporate umbrella, the two strong brand names, Megadyne and Ammeraal Beltech, were preserved. Today, Megadyne continues as a key part of AMMEGA, manufacturing a vast range of belts and components for countless industrial applications worldwide.
