MeetsMore

eCommerce & Marketplaces · Tokyo, Japan · Founded 2017

A platform for users to find the perfect professional for a wide range of personal services, from home issues to life events MoreLess

MeetsMore Inc. operates as a key player in Japan's local services marketplace, aiming to boost the nation's GDP by enhancing the efficiency of its service sector. The company was established on February 8, 2017, by co-founders Ayako Ishikawa, who serves as CEO, and Fumiya Karasawa, the CTO.

The inspiration for MeetsMore came from CEO Ayako Ishikawa's experiences abroad. Having spent her childhood between Japan and China, she noted Japan's economic stagnation. Her time as a consultant at Bain & Company, followed by an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and a role at Silicon Valley e-commerce firm Zazzle, exposed her to startups successfully tackling the local services market, which solidified her resolve to start the company upon returning to Japan. Co-founder and CTO Fumiya Karasawa brought crucial technical expertise to the venture, having worked at Yahoo Japan on product development for Yahoo! Auctions and later in the CTO's office supporting technology across the company.

The company's core business revolves around two primary products. The first is "MeetsMore," an online marketplace that connects consumers with local service professionals across more than 600 categories, including photography, home services, and tax accounting. The platform streamlines the process of finding and hiring professionals by allowing users to answer a series of questions and receive up to five automated quotes in as little as one minute. This system facilitates quote comparison, communication via chat, and payment, all within the platform. By June 2024, the service had surpassed 5 million cumulative requests and had over 77,000 registered service providers.

The second product is "ProOne" (formerly MeetsOne), a B2B SaaS solution designed for field service businesses like construction, renovation, and facilities maintenance. ProOne is an all-in-one business management software offering tools for customer management, quote creation, project documentation, and financial management, aiming to reduce administrative tasks by 30% and increase revenue by 20% for its clients. The company has attracted significant investment, including a Series B funding round that brought its total raised capital to substantial figures, enabling further development and expansion.
