About Medicover Hospitals

Medicover is an international healthcare and diagnostic services company with headquarters in Sweden and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm. The company was established in Poland in 1995 to meet the demand for high-quality medical services in the region, a concept initiated by Swedish entrepreneur Bengt Beckmann. This idea arose from his personal experience with the Polish healthcare system. Jonas af Jochnick, co-founder of Oriflame, invested in the company in 1994, playing a pivotal role in its development. Medicover operates through two main divisions: Healthcare Services and Diagnostic Services. The Healthcare Services division provides care through a network of hospitals, medical clinics, fertility centers, dental clinics, and other specialty facilities. The Diagnostic Services division offers a comprehensive range of clinical laboratory services, from routine tests to advanced diagnostics. Medicover's business model includes both a Fee-For-Service (FFS) component and an integrated model based on prepaid subscriptions and medical insurance, often funded by employers for their employees. This integrated approach provides a stable and predictable revenue stream. Medicover's main markets include Poland, Germany, Romania, and India. The company entered the Indian market in August 2017 by acquiring a majority stake in the MaxCure Hospitals network, which was subsequently rebranded as Medicover Hospitals. In India, Medicover operates a network of multi-specialty hospitals across states like Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra, offering services in over 35 departments, including cardiology, oncology, neurology, orthopedics, and organ transplantation. These facilities are equipped with advanced medical technology such as robotic surgery systems, 3 Tesla MRIs, and advanced intensive care units (ICUs).
