Meaco

The business pivoted in 2005 to concentrate on the domestic market for portable dehumidifiers, a move that began after Meaco became the sole UK distributor for Mitsubishi Electric's portable dehumidifiers in 1999. By 2009, leveraging its experience, Meaco started manufacturing its own line of dehumidifiers. Today, the company designs its products in the UK, with customer feedback heavily influencing design, and manufactures them in Asia to remain price-competitive. Its product line has expanded to include air purifiers, cooling fans, portable air conditioners, and humidifiers. The company is particularly known for its energy-efficient and quiet Arete® range of combined dehumidifiers and air purifiers, which feature medical-grade H13 HEPA filters.

Meaco sells its products directly to consumers via its website and through major retailers. The company has a significant international presence, exporting to over 20 countries across Europe, North America, and South Africa, with exports comprising half of its business. In January 2026, Meaco secured a multi-million-pound investment from FourLeaf Capital to accelerate its European expansion. Following the investment, founder Chris Michael transitioned to the role of Chief Product Officer to focus on innovation, while Conor Sugrue was appointed CEO.
