MayStreet
Capital markets low-latency market data and analytics platform
About MayStreet
Founded in 2012 by Patrick Flannery and Michael Lehr, MayStreet is a market data solutions provider that was acquired by the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) in May 2022. The founders, a Wall Street software engineer and a computer science specialist respectively, aimed to build high-performance market data systems for discerning clients like market makers and proprietary trading firms. The company bootstrapped until its first Series A funding round of $21 million in 2020.
MayStreet's core business revolves around delivering high-quality, low-latency global market data and technology. Its client base includes over 65 participants such as banks, asset managers, hedge funds, and regulators. A significant milestone was achieved in 2019 when the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) selected MayStreet to provide market data for its Market Information Data Analytics System (MIDAS).
The company's product suite is designed to manage the entire market data lifecycle. Key offerings include the Bellport Enterprise, an ultra-low latency feed handler for processing real-time exchange data; the Market Data Lake, a repository of historical, full depth-of-book data captured globally; and the Analytics Workbench, a cloud-based environment for querying and analyzing the data. The platform provides data in multiple formats, including raw packet capture (PCAP), and offers tools for analytics, backtesting, and compliance workflows. The business model is flexible, offering both technology licenses and subscription-based access.
Following the acquisition, MayStreet became part of LSEG's Enterprise Data Solutions business within its Data & Analytics division. The integration aims to enhance LSEG's capabilities across the entire latency spectrum, combining MayStreet's low-latency expertise and cloud technology with LSEG's extensive data offerings and global scale.
