MatriQ

MatriQ (Hangzhou Atomic Matrix Computing Co., Ltd.; 杭州原子矩阵计算有限公司) is a Chinese quantum-computing company building full-stack neutral-atom quantum computers based on Rydberg atoms trapped in dynamic optical-tweezer arrays. Its stack spans core devices and chips, complete hardware systems, and quantum algorithm solutions, integrated in-house from module level to full-machine system.

The company has demonstrated a stable 2,048-qubit defect-free physical-qubit array with a zoned architecture separating storage and entanglement regions, supporting high-fidelity global and local single-qubit gates and global two-qubit gates, analog Hamiltonian simulation (AHS) and digital QASM circuit execution. It has demonstrated large-scale programmable atom rearrangement and storage-to-entanglement atom movement — building blocks toward quantum error correction, logical qubits and fault-tolerant quantum computing (FTQC) — and is moving from R&D into commercial system delivery, including cloud access.

MatriQ's team draws on more than a decade of research from leading institutions (with backgrounds spanning the Max Planck Institute, Imperial College London, Carnegie Mellon and the University of Strasbourg) in quantum physics, optical engineering, precision manufacturing and quantum algorithms, and is widely reported as emerging from China's neutral-atom research effort associated with the USTC / Shanghai AI Laboratory team. The company was incubated by Guangyuan Capital's (Light Capital) 3i Industrial Innovation Incubator and, within roughly six months, raised three financing rounds — a seed round (Nov 2025), an angel round (Mar 2026) and a Series A (May 2026) — totalling hundreds of millions of RMB.
