Marvel Fusion

In August 2023, Marvel Fusion partnered with Colorado State University (CSU) to construct a $150 million laser facility on CSU's Foothills Campus. This state-of-the-art facility will house at least three multi-petawatt laser systems, each capable of firing ten pulses per second, making it one of the most powerful laser facilities globally. The collaboration aims to advance laser-driven fusion research and develop a safe, clean, and reliable energy source.

Marvel Fusion's scientific leadership includes experts such as Georg Korn and Hartmut Ruhl, with support from renowned physicists like Nobel laureate Gérard Mourou, Siegfried Glenzer from Stanford University, and Florian Metzler from MIT. The company has secured €105 million in private funding and public cooperation projects, employing a team of 70 professionals.

In addition to its U.S. initiatives, Marvel Fusion conducts experiments at Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich's CALA laser and the ELI-NP laser in Romania. These efforts contribute to the company's research and development endeavors, aiming to demonstrate significant fusion reactions and validate theoretical models.
