Marlin is a permissionless relay network with built-in incentivization. It is designed to provide a high-performance network infrastructure for DeFi and Web3.

The protocol's primary goal is to enhance the speed and scalability of decentralized applications by offering a high-throughput, low-latency communication layer. This is achieved through a global network of relay nodes that can be utilized by various blockchains to propagate blocks and transactions more efficiently.

Marlin's architecture is blockchain-agnostic, meaning it can be integrated with different distributed ledger technologies. The network is open and permissionless, allowing anyone to participate as a relay node operator. In return for their services, operators are rewarded with the native protocol token, POND.

The business model revolves around the utility of the POND token, which is used for staking, governance, and compensating relayers. By creating a marketplace for network resources, Marlin aims to deliver a level of performance and reliability that is comparable to centralized web services, thereby accelerating the adoption of decentralized technologies.
