The story of MarketTime is one of consolidation and evolution in the B2B wholesale software space. Its roots trace back to 1984 with RepTime, an early electronic solution for managing orders and invoices founded by Bob Fredricks and DataSense, Inc.. Separately, in 1997, Todd and Jannetta Litzman started Showroom Solutions to address technology gaps in order processing for the home and gift industries, which evolved into Brandwise in 2000. Meanwhile, Hemal Patel founded what would become MarketTime, acquiring RepTime and building a unified sales platform. For years, Brandwise and MarketTime operated as key players in their respective niches. The major turning point came in October 2021, when MarketTime announced its acquisition of Brandwise. This strategic move combined two industry veterans, creating the largest B2B commerce solutions provider in North America. The combined entity supports billions in annual wholesale commerce across various consumer product segments. Following the merger, the leadership team was integrated, with Todd Litzman eventually becoming CEO of the combined company. In December 2023, the company secured a significant majority investment from Hudson Hill Capital, a private investment firm. This funding event was aimed at fueling further growth and solidifying its platform, which automates the wholesale transaction process for thousands of sales agencies, brands, and retailers.
