About Mandic
Mandic holds a significant place in Brazil's internet history, founded in 1990 by the entrepreneurial figure, Aleksandar Mandic. Born in Brazil to a humble family of Serbian and Belarusian descent, Mandic developed a keen interest in technology from a young age, leading him to pursue technical studies. His career began at Siemens in Industrial Automation, but after 18 years, he left to establish his own venture, the MANDIC BBS, one of the first of its kind in Brazil. As the internet arrived in the country, the business evolved, and by 1996, it had become a notable internet service provider.

After a period as a co-founder and vice-president of iG - Internet Group, Aleksandar Mandic re-established his company in 2002, this time focusing on corporate email services under the name 'mandic:mail'. The company's trajectory saw a significant shift towards cloud computing, offering a suite of products tailored for corporate clients. This strategic pivot led to the acquisition of Mandic by the private equity firm Riverwood Capital in March 2012 for R$100 million. The company continued to expand its services, specializing in managed Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), including managed public cloud, cloud backup, storage, and collaboration tools. In April 2021, Mandic was acquired by the global technology service company Claranet, a move that integrated Mandic into a larger international operation.
Mandic's business model is centered on providing cloud computing and IT managed services for companies across various sectors, including retail, health, and education. It serves a broad client base, from small and medium-sized businesses to large enterprises like Visa, Burger King, iFood, and Samsung. The company generates revenue by offering solutions such as managed cloud servers, hosting, corporate email, cloud backup, online backup, and cloud database services. They also resell products like Microsoft Office 365 for enterprises. A key aspect of their service is the focus on specialization in cloud computing, providing infrastructure off-premises which requires a cultural shift for adopting companies. Their offerings are designed as foundational IT solutions that every company needs, rather than niche products. Mandic's services include professional support for cloud migration, DevOps practices, and data analytics, catering to businesses at any stage of their cloud journey.
