'Pax Dei' is set in a medieval-inspired world where myths are real, inviting players to explore, build homes, and forge their own societies and economies in a persistent, shared environment. The core gameplay revolves around player agency, featuring loops for peaceful activities like resource gathering and crafting, as well as adventure-focused exploration and both Player-versus-Environment (PvE) and Player-versus-Player (PvP) combat.

Mainframe Industries operates on a significant capital foundation, having secured multiple funding rounds. The company raised €2 million in a seed round in October 2019, followed by a €7.6 million Series A in March 2020 and a substantial €20.3 million Series B in November 2021. These rounds were led by prominent venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and saw participation from major industry players like Riot Games, as well as angel investors including the co-founders of Twitch and King. The business model for 'Pax Dei', which entered Early Access in June 2024, involves an initial purchase of the game, followed by a recurring fee or subscription to maintain access and in-game land plots. This model is designed to provide a stable revenue stream to support the long-term development and expansion of the game world.
