Electric drive systems and vehicles for commercial fleets
About Magnetic Systems Technology
Magtec designs, manufactures and integrates electric and hybrid drive systems for commercial, defence and rail vehicles. Its in-house technology covers permanent magnet traction motors, gearboxes, power controllers, high-voltage battery systems and condition monitoring, with design and production at its facility in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
The company sells complete electric trucks, including the type-approved MEV75 7.5-tonne and MEV190 19-tonne models, and repowers existing diesel buses, refuse collection vehicles and heavy goods vehicles to battery electric. It also supplies drive system rafts direct to OEM production lines, the MAGPAC battery pack for construction, agricultural and industrial equipment, and permanent magnet motors for naval pumping and fan applications.
Customers include fleet operators, local authorities, OEMs, rail operators and defence organisations. Magtec earns revenue from vehicle and component sales, repower projects and aftermarket service and support.
