Made Renovation secured significant venture capital, raising a $9 million seed round in February 2020 and a subsequent $23 million Series A round in July 2021, bringing its total funding to $32 million. Notable investors included Insight Partners, Base10 Partners, Founders Fund, and Felicis Ventures. The company's growth was reportedly accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic as more people invested in home improvement projects. However, despite its initial traction and funding, Made Renovation faced substantial operational challenges. The company ceased operations around October 2023 and officially filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in October 2024, reporting $19.2 million in liabilities against minimal assets. The closure followed a wave of customer and contractor complaints regarding poor service quality, project mismanagement, and payment issues.
