M5 Networks

M5 Networks, founded in 2000 by Michael Erde, Phillip Kim, and Ray Lieu, was a pioneering provider of cloud-based telephony and unified communications (UC) services for businesses. The company was established in a New York City apartment and became one of the first to gain prominence as a dedicated hosted Voice over IP (VoIP) vendor. Following the acquisition, M5 Networks was operated as a new ShoreTel business unit, initially named the ShoreTel Cloud Division, with Dan Hoffman continuing to lead as president and general manager.
