Limedix
Develops digital supply solutions for speech therapy
About Limedix
Limedix GmbH, the company behind the neolexon brand, was founded in 2017 by speech therapists Dr. Mona Späth and Dr. Hanna Jakob. The idea originated in 2013 from their direct experience in therapy rooms and through intensive research at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. They identified a need for digital innovation to improve care for patients with speech impairments.
The company develops and distributes digital applications for speech therapy. Its flagship product is the neolexon aphasia app, which is the first speech therapy app to be included in the DiGA directory (Digital Health Applications) in Germany. This allows the app to be prescribed by doctors and reimbursed by all statutory health insurance funds.
The business model focuses on the development and sale of therapeutic and health-promoting software, which is registered as a medical device. Limedix serves patients with language disorders, such as those recovering from a stroke, and the speech therapists who treat them. The app provides a platform for patients to continue their therapy independently at home, complementing traditional face-to-face sessions.
