Durk Derrick Banks, professionally known as Lil Durk, operates a multifaceted business empire centered around his music career. The core of his enterprise is the record label and rap collective, Only The Family (OTF). Founded by Banks in 2010, OTF functions as a platform to cultivate and promote musical talent, primarily from the Chicago hip-hop scene. The label generates revenue through music sales, streaming royalties, and live performances of its roster of artists. As the founder, Banks earns a share of the revenue generated by the artists signed to his label, which has included notable acts like the late King Von.

The business model extends beyond music production and management. A significant revenue stream is derived from Lil Durk's own prolific music career, encompassing album sales, worldwide tours, and substantial earnings from streaming platforms where he maintains millions of monthly listeners. In May 2024, Lil Durk announced a strategic partnership with the record company AWAL to relaunch the OTF label. This collaboration provides OTF with enhanced infrastructure, artist development resources, and creative support, with Banks serving as CEO and his longtime collaborator, Cedrick “SB” Earsery, as COO.

He established a trucking company, OTF Logistics, which started with a small number of trucks and has since expanded its fleet. This venture secures contracts with major corporations like Amazon and Walmart for transporting goods. Further diversifying his interests, Banks has made investments in real estate and ventured into the technology space. He co-founded NXTG3NZ, a digital wearables company focused on the NFT fashion market, and launched OTF Gaming to tap into the esports industry. Philanthropically, Lil Durk and OTF established the Neighborhood Heroes Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating positive change in underprivileged communities.
