About Lianshu

Based in Beijing, Lianshu Technology, also operating under the name Lisuan Tech, is a deep-tech startup concentrated on the design and manufacturing of graphics processing units (GPUs). The firm was established in 2018, initially entering the market with a platform for blockchain content creation. This service was designed to produce high-quality, original blockchain information, aiming to reduce learning costs and improve information access for clients in that ecosystem.

The company has since pivoted its strategy to focus on the competitive semiconductor industry. This new direction is highlighted by the development of its proprietary TrueGPU architecture, which is the foundation for its graphics chips. Lianshu is positioning itself to compete with established players like Nvidia and AMD, particularly within the Chinese market. The company targets the mainstream gaming sector, which prioritizes engaging gameplay over cutting-edge visual effects, allowing for a broader install base.

Lianshu has developed China's first 6-nanometer gaming and AI GPUs, including the 7G106 and 7G105 models. These chips are built on TSMC's 6nm process and support a range of APIs such as DirectX 12, Vulkan 1.3, and OpenGL 4.6, though without DirectX 12 Ultimate's ray-tracing capabilities. The 7G106 model offers up to 24 TFLOPs of FP32 performance, features 12 GB of GDDR6 memory, and includes a modern video acceleration engine capable of 8K decoding. Beyond gaming, these GPUs are designed for multi-purpose acceleration in AI, cloud rendering, and enterprise virtualization, supporting features like SR-IOV for sharing the GPU across multiple virtual machines.

The company's financial history includes an early-stage venture capital round in August 2019 from investors Bixin Ventures and Tisiwi. Following its strategic shift, Lianshu secured an Angel round of an undisclosed amount on February 23, 2022, with participation from four institutional investors: Oceanpine Capital, Jiangmen Ventures, Sharelink Capital, and Delta Capital.
