In the dot-com era, Learn2.com emerged as a provider of corporate e-learning, delivering training services over the internet. The company aimed to revolutionize professional development by moving it online. However, the journey was not straightforward. By early 2001, Learn2.com faced significant challenges, including lower-than-expected revenues and the delisting of its stock from Nasdaq for not maintaining a minimum bid price. A pivotal moment arrived in April 2001, when a merger was announced with E-Stamp, an internet postage company that was itself pivoting. The combined, debt-free entity was to be named Learn2 Corporation and would focus squarely on the corporate e-learning market, infused with fresh working capital. This move was a lifeline, providing the capital Learn2.com needed to continue its operations and pursue growth. The story took another turn in September 2002, when Learn2 Corporation sold its e-learning assets, including content and patented technologies, to a company called Learn.com. Following this sale, Learn2 Corporation shifted its focus to its subsidiary, Etracks, an email marketing business, and planned to change its name, marking an exit from the e-learning space it had once set out to capture. The acquiring company, Learn.com, was later bought by Taleo in 2010, which was subsequently acquired by Oracle in 2012.
