Lavol
AI-powered factoring and payment delay services for freelancers
About Lavol
Lavol inc., a subsidiary of the TSE Prime-listed company Ceres Inc., is a financial technology firm established in December 2021 by CEO 建部 大 (Takeru Takebe). The company operates with the vision of creating equal monetary value for everyone, aiming to address the financial challenges that hinder diverse work styles.
Lavol provides two primary online financial services targeted at freelancers, sole proprietors, and small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The first is "labol," an AI-powered factoring service that allows businesses to sell their invoices for immediate cash. Utilizing a proprietary AI, the service can determine the eligibility of an invoice for purchase almost instantly, enabling funds to be transferred in as little as 30 minutes after registration, 24/7. The service requires minimal documentation—only identity verification, the invoice, and evidence of the transaction. A flat fee of 10% of the買取額 applies.
The second service is "labol Card-Betsu," a payment deferral solution. It acts as an intermediary, paying a user's suppliers or bills via bank transfer and then charging the user's credit card. This allows businesses to delay their actual cash outflow for up to 60 days, depending on their credit card cycle, providing significant flexibility in cash flow management. The process can be completed online in as little as 60 minutes.
In September 2025, Lavol announced a significant funding round of approximately 3.2 billion JPY, consisting of 1 billion in equity and 2.2 billion in debt. This capital is intended to accelerate its vision of becoming a "challenger bank" for freelancers through M&A, new business development, AI research, and team expansion.
