LandGate
Data intelligence platform for energy and infrastructure assets.
About LandGate
LandGate Corp. operates as a data intelligence platform and online marketplace for commercial land and its associated energy and infrastructure resources. The company provides data-as-a-service (DaaS) solutions for site selection, development, financing, and market analysis of projects across the United States. In June 2026, the company was acquired by Wood Mackenzie to integrate its data analytics into a broader platform for US power markets. LandGate's clientele includes energy and infrastructure developers, investors, capital groups, banks, and real estate professionals. Founded in 2016 in Denver, Colorado, by Yoann Hispa and Dan McCue, the company has roots in the energy sector, originally operating under the name PetroValues. President and co-founder Craig Kaiser brought his extensive background as a scientist and executive in the energy and natural resources industries to the company's development. This expertise helped shape the firm's focus on merging the complex data of the energy industry with commercial real estate. The company's business model is centered on its proprietary data platform, which contains over 25 terabytes of data and more than 500 unique attributes for over 150 million parcels of land in the US. LandGate serves as a marketplace connecting landowners with developers and investors for transactions involving solar, wind, data centers, battery storage, EV charging, carbon credits, minerals, and water rights. It generates revenue by providing subscriptions to its data, analytics, and web applications, which help clients reduce costs and accelerate transactions. By the first quarter of 2022, the company had already facilitated over $300 million in land resource deals. LandGate secured a Series A funding round in 2019 from Rice Investment Group and a $10 million Series B round in 2022 led by NextEra Energy Resources and Kimmeridge. Over five rounds, the company has raised a total of $20 million in funding.
