kupando
A pioneering biopharmaceutical company developing a TLR 4/7 agonist that stimulates innate immunity
About kupando
Kupando is a Schönefeld (Brandenburg) biopharmaceutical company founded in 2018 by CEO Dr Johanna Holldack, building on innate-immunity research from Professor Dennis Carson’s laboratory at UC San Diego. Its lead candidate KUP101 is a dual TLR4/TLR7 agonist co-encapsulated in a liposomal formulation designed to stimulate innate and trained immunity for tissue-agnostic treatment of solid tumours and for prevention/treatment of infectious disease including antimicrobial-resistant pathogens; the AMR programme has been sponsored by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space. After an initial Series A that brought equity support from Remiges Ventures, LifeCare Partners, Brandenburg Kapital, HTGF, Ventura Biomed Investors and family offices, in March 2026 Kupando secured an additional €10 million Series A extension again led by Remiges and co-led by LifeCare Partners with existing investors and new investor Carma Fund, bringing total Series A funding to €23 million to fund a planned Phase 1b / first-in-human oncology study of KUP101 and accelerate infectious-disease preclinical programmes.
