Kodebox, a South Korean software company established in August 2017 by co-founders Kwang-yul Seo and Young-min Lee, is focused on enhancing corporate and asset management for unlisted companies. Initially, the firm garnered industry attention by developing a blockchain platform for security token offerings (STOs). The company's trajectory shifted following the launch of its flagship product, 'ZUZU', in June 2020. This move addressed a critical need in the private market, where many startups struggle with the complexities of corporate governance and securities management.

ZUZU operates as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution designed to streamline shareholder management for private companies. The platform provides tools for maintaining shareholder registers, administering stock options, and managing the logistics of board meetings and general shareholders' meetings. The business model is subscription-based, with a growing number of paid customers. By November 2022, the platform had been adopted by over 4,500 companies. To further serve the ecosystem, Kodebox launched 'ZUZU for VC' in December 2022, a service tailored to support the management and operation of individual investment associations.

The company's early focus was on 'CodeChain', a blockchain platform for issuing and trading tokenized alternative assets like art and copyrights. While this foundational technology demonstrated the team's technical capabilities, the pivot to the ZUZU platform proved to be a significant milestone. This strategic shift attracted considerable investment, including a Series B funding round of approximately 20 billion won in April 2022 from eight investors, building on initial investments from Kakao Ventures and Dunamu.
