Berlin-based Klim, founded in 2020 by Robert Gerlach, Nina Mannheimer, and Adiv Maimon, operates as an agritech company focused on scaling regenerative agriculture. By inputting farm data, users can track metrics like soil health improvements and carbon sequestration, which is quantified using a model that combines satellite data, soil samples, and primary farm data. This system allows farmers to demonstrate their environmental impact and create an additional revenue stream by selling verified carbon outcomes on Klim's marketplace.

For corporate clients, including major food companies like Nestlé and Kaufland, Klim provides a mechanism to meet sustainability goals and address Scope 3 emissions. Companies can invest in regenerative projects either within their own supply chains (insetting) or through carbon offsetting by purchasing credits generated by farmers on the platform. This business model involves taking commissions on the sale of these carbon credits and offsets. Since its founding, the company has attracted over 4,000 farmers, covering more than 800,000 hectares of land, and operates in several European countries.
