About KiteRa
KiteRa provides a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform focused on streamlining the creation and management of internal company regulations. The company was established on April 1, 2019, by Takashi Uematsu, who now serves as the CEO. Uematsu, a certified Social Insurance and Labor Consultant, drew upon his 14 years of experience in human resources, business planning, and internal control, where he directly encountered the significant inefficiencies and high costs associated with managing corporate rules, particularly during IPO preparations. This firsthand experience became the driving force behind the business, which originated as an internal project at his former company before he and his team acquired it to launch KiteRa independently.
The firm's business model is centered on subscriptions to its platform, which digitizes and automates the entire lifecycle of internal regulations—from creation and editing to management and legally required submissions. KiteRa serves two primary client segments through tailored products: "KiteRa Pro" for Social Insurance and Labor Consultant (Sharoushi) firms and "KiteRa Biz" for general corporations. This dual approach allows the company to address the needs of both the professional advisors who draft these rules and the companies that must implement them. As of early 2022, the service had been adopted by over 800 Sharoushi firms, and by mid-2023, the client base had grown to include over 1,700 firms and 350 companies.
The KiteRa platform offers a suite of features designed to reduce the manual, time-consuming tasks associated with regulation management. Its specialized editor automates the formatting of clauses, articles, and chapters, and can automatically generate a table of contents and a table of new and old provisions when revisions are made. The service includes over 200 templates that are kept up-to-date with the latest legal changes. A key function is its AI-powered review, which can check for missing clauses and flag sections affected by legal reforms. The platform also facilitates the electronic filing of documents like the statement of employment rules and 36 agreements directly to government agencies. By consolidating these functions, KiteRa aims to improve corporate governance and risk management for its clients, enabling them to maintain compliance with less effort.
