Kintra Fibers was co-founded in 2018 by Billy McCall and Alissa Baier-Lentz, who now serve as CEO and COO, respectively. The company was born out of a desire to combat the environmental problem of microfiber pollution caused by synthetic textiles.

Kintra Fibers has developed a proprietary bio-based and compostable polymer, a form of polybutylene succinate (PBS), that serves as a sustainable alternative to traditional polyester. This material is designed for the apparel industry and can be integrated into existing manufacturing processes. The company's business model is centered on producing and supplying this polymer to fashion brands, positioning itself as a key player in the sustainable materials market.
