KiiChain is a Layer 1 blockchain built with the Cosmos SDK, specifically designed for emerging markets. It functions as an AppChain, creating an abstraction layer for utility and liquidity for stablecoins and real-world assets (RWAs). The platform blends EVM compatibility with multi-chain connectivity, enabling high interoperability and scalability. This dual architecture allows developers to leverage both the Cosmos ecosystem's connectivity and Ethereum's established developer tools. KiiChain aims to solve the problem of limited access to global financial products in emerging markets by addressing issues like fragmented banking infrastructure and slow, expensive cross-border payments.

The project is spearheaded by Kii Global, a Colombia-based blockchain company. The executive team includes Danyel Arenas as CEO and Alex Cavallero as COO. As of early 2025, Kii Global had processed over $200 million in trading volume and served more than 200 businesses in Colombia. The company has secured significant funding, including a $22 million round led by Nimbus Capital, bringing its total raised capital to $24 million from investors like Super Cycle Capital, WTG Ventures, and In On Capital.

The KiiChain network is engineered to process up to 12,000 transactions per second with approximately one-second block times for near-instant settlement. It operates on a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are chosen based on the amount of tokens they stake. The ecosystem includes several key products and modules. KIIEX is a hybrid centralized-decentralized exchange for RWA liquidity and payment settlement. The Kii PayFi Module is a gas-optimized payment system for merchant transactions, designed to incentivize both web2 and web3 companies to move their payment models on-chain. KiiChain's business model generates revenue through trading and processing fees on KIIEX, DeFi wallet transaction fees, and fees from integrating its ecosystem into traditional fintech enterprises.
